I don't think 8 bits devices will have enough calculating power to cope with such a bunch of sensors AND drive some usable device in real time ...
Alain
I don't know much about the device but doesn't it have a processor on board to do the donkey work?

the interface i2c, ( slave) at 400khz ,, but also has a "pass Through Mode to get the sensor information directly , the 6 axis info is processed at 16bit resolution adc on each , with 3 compass adc at 13 bit resolution , has built in charge pump for gyros
the sensor info is presented at upto to 1024 bytes via the fifo in burst mode
the use of the int pin has mainly the status info modes
it allow s for a 3rd party pressure sensor off a 2nd i2c interface
3.3v device
it looks like you could use a 8 bit pic , but like all things depends on how fast you need to process the the data this thing is giving
That's funny, Sparkfun sells them on eval board for $34.95 U S , eBay has them for $7.90 US on a board, and Digikey gets $12 something for a raw chip, I'm thinking eBay china made board may have genuine, imitation chip . . . like so many FTDI chips they sell? This chip seems like avionics on a chip, Swiss Army knife.
i have ordered one of these if i can find time to use it from ebay , its a sweet chip for what it does for the cost , programming looks straight forward , as said before , comes down to what you do with the data
