Custom LCD

Hi,

I need lcd 4 rows, 8 seven segments digit in each row, and some charters around lcd. And about 1000pcs per year.
It should be display without controller(like one in calculator)
I didn't find off the shelf display, so i try to contact some manufacturers but they didn't response.
Did anyone try to get custom lcd from some manufacturer?
Any manufacturers to recommend? What is minimum quantity? etc...
