I searched the forum for links to Mister_e's PIC MULTICALC calculator and discovered that the web site referred to is no longer there.
Does anyone on this forum have a copy of it that you can email me to [email protected].
Ditto for Melanies Timer calculator. The site she referred people to for the Beta version is no longer there. Would like a copy of it also to see which one I want to use (or both?).

Is the timer calculator from Melanie different than the one in PicMulticalc?
From what I have read in the Forum, I believe it is, but haven't actually seen it so can't say for sure. Even if they are, I would like to compare the two to decide which one I want to use.Quote:

I have an idea for you to expand it if you desire.
Say you have a single 7 segment LED display (or matrix)
connected to an 8 bit port (as often do),
You tell the program what segments are connected to what pins,
and your program tells the hex values to send to the port
to produce all of the digits from 0-F.

Sorry to say that Mister_e went incognito from this forum a few months ago for personal reasons and also shut down his web sites, so I don't imagin eyour PM will get to him. He has been a major contributor to this forum for years. I know this because I tried to reach him a few months ago about the USB template he created and posted and Darrel Taylor then advised me of him being unreachable. Maybe one of the long-timers on this forum who knew Mister_e very well personally still knows how to reach him and they might forward your posting to him??Quote:

seems there is an existing program that does it, but looks to be part of a commercial package.
I posted the idea here so anyone could do it (if they like the idea).
I'm not much of a Windows programmer.
For what is worth, the attached Excel file decodes the segments for a serial 7-segment display.
