The dreaded "No Device Detected" error
Well... I just loaded up a "new" (untested design) board with a 16F684 and assorted goodies. When I went to program it, I got the dreaded "No Device Detected" error... :(
Yes, I DO have 16F684 selected in MCS.
I've checked very carefully and all PIC pins are soldered to the board and there's no pins shorted together.
I ran the troubleshooting routine from PICkit2, and all seems good. I've got 5 volts on VDD, 0 volts on Vss, 12 volts on Vpp (Mclr), and I get nice clean 30Khz test waveform on ICSPDAT and ICSPCLK.
According to the test routine, everything looks O.K.
Is there anything else I should check before I replace the PIC?
I rather dislike unsoldering and replacing TSSOP parts...
Thanks!
