Hi all,
Just wandering if anyone came across a single cell (3.7V), Li-Ion, minimum 1A, self contained battery charger for vehicular (cigarette lighter) usage.
Any input, links or advise will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Nick

What do you mean by self contained?

Sorry if I wasn’t clear.
I mean all the charging smarts should be in this piece, not just a 12V to 5V converter.

I think Maxim has some ICs dedicated to Li Ion charging

Thanks Jerson,
I'm looking for something allready built.
You are right Maxim and Linear Technology have a large selection of charging controller chips.
I do not have the time to build and manufacture my own so I must find a source.

Sparkfun!! Sparkfun!! Here is a 5-12V charger (http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=8293) and a 3.7-7V charger (http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=726). They have a lot of useful little things like this.

Thank you Tim!
The first link is exactly what I need.
I did search Sparkfun but found only the second option which does not meet the current requirement (minimum 1A).
Thanks again,
Nick
