Setting up Quadrature encoder with pic18f2331.

Hello.

I am designing a pid controller to control a dc motor. But first, i need to be able to read the speed of my motor. I am using pic18f2331 because of its QEI features. Can anyone helps me in using this features. I totally got confused on the registers involved!
