PIC16F874A Port E problem

Just a quick question. How do I get port E to work as inputs?

I tried "trise = %111" but still not working

Straight from datasheet ...



Also, ensure that ADCON1 is configured
for digital I/O. In this mode, the input buffers are
TTL.
