Hi,

Has anyone written code to decode a POCSAG paging signal? I have a pager and would like to duplicate its call number into a PIC to control things (switch lights on and off etc.).

Any pointers and tips to save me loosing the last of my hair!

Thanks,
Bob Smith

I have done this using a PC and a scanner, using a small adapter board, I would think it could be done, I have thought about doing it also, but never took it any futher. You will need a radio that you can tap into, using the speaker input will not work.

Here is the circuit for Pocsag when not using a soundcard and may work with Pic's

Many thanks for the info.

I did write POCSAG encoder code in xbasic (shows how long ago that was!) for the PC. But with memory fading and age increasing I was checking to see if it had already been done.

Will start on the code soon but it will take me some time to finish (part time hobby).

Thanks,
Bob

Bob, did you ever get a decoder running? I'm about to start on the same project and did not want to re-invent the wheel.

I Have Recently DoNE Some REseArch About This Project And Finaly I Find What I Need The Famous Pocsag Decoder Based On A 16c84 Pic R 16f
And I Have Done The Project And It Work Very Good
