View Full Version : Water Level Detection using Ultrasonic Sensor

Hi Friends,

I have been using water level detectors to automatically turn off the motor that pumps water to the overhead tank when the tank becomes full. These circuits designed by me some years ago have been working satisfactorily. Initially I used HPWM for water level sensing and thanks to Darrel, I was able to use software PWM with a 12F629 with equally good results.

I have been toying with the idea of using ultrasonic sensors and redesigning the circuit to show water level on a scale of 1 to 10. It is a non-contact measuring method, no wires need to go into the water and there is no maintenance needed.

I would appreciate some help, guidance or tips for this project.

Thanks & Regards,
Bala

Hi RussMartin,

Thanks for your reponse.

It's a small plastic tank meant for household purposes with the following measurements:
Base: 48" x 36"
Height: 12"
