hi matelda,
you must consider using chipcorder from Windbond Electronics. datasheet and spec on digikey web site. i've buy some to experiment but i've never had time to test them.

good luck

That's not the only option. Most of the 16F and 18F series are more than capable of Real-Time voice capture and replay without any external voice chips. You just need some fast storage.

Microchip has an overview for 17 series here...

Rather stupidly, one company has about TEN circuit diagrams of its commercial products posted on the internet, some using 16F77 and external Flash storage. You haven't got the code, but come-on, it's not going to take Einstein to figure it if the circuit diagram is presented to you on a plate.

Melanie:
Do you have the URL of that company.? (The one with the diagrams of their cards.)
Thanks...

Select PRODUCTS
Then select DIGITAL VOICE RECORDER EDIC-MINI

Scroll down the list of products... you'll find half of them have circuit diagrams posted.

After looking at half a dozen or so, you'll suddenly realise they're basically all the same with just different PICs and minor feature changes.
