Guy's

I'm looking at starting a project that reads ODBII codes on my Volvo. You can make a simple LED flasher which allows you to read and reset the ECU ( http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?p=276849#post276849 gives details). However I thought that this sort of thing is just crying out to use a PIC with a small 16 x 2 LCD to display the description ofn the code. Yes I know that you can buy ECU readers for around £60 from flebay, but I think it wold be more fun developing and buildingn my own.

Comments please

malc-c, Checkout http://www.elmelectronics.com/ as they have a good selection of different interface chips (Pics) that decode OBD codes from different manufactures and protocols. You will need to find out which protocol your vehical uses. That is a good starting point.....
