For a new project with a little bit serial data i need a pic with about 4 to 8 kb data space. And a few digital ports, what pic can i used the best.

I saw some of the 18F pics have 3v3 power supply but they are a little bit off overkill.

Please give me some advice.

mmpff hard to say as Microchip release a new PIC each day :D

well PIC16F883, 16F886,16F887, 16F690 could be in the list.

there's still this link

Or the Microchip website which allow you to enter your own specs...

I've been working with the '690 for my last few projects, and have nothing but good to say about them. They have no issues working down to 2 volts with the internal oscillator @ 8MHz. All this in an optional QFN20 package to boot!

PS... Everyone you speak to will have their favorite PIC. For me, it's about versatility, and Digikey or Mouser stocking it!

The 690 is the one i will take i looked over the voltage information in the datasheet shame shame shame. I've used it before in other 5v projects. Thank you for your reply.
