Hello there,

Has any one used a 12 to 16 bit DAC with a Pic, using pic basic ? and if so which would you recommend.

You have all been a great help since I began using pic basic in October last year
and am making progress. Hopefully I might be able to help some one in the near future and get more involved with the forums

thanks again in advance John

Have you been here? http://www.parallax.com/html_pages/downloads/siccurriculum/documentation_sic_curriculum.asp

Look at "Basic Analog and Digital"

PBASIC is not to much different PBP, the code examples will need modified, the main thing this article is good for is theory and ideas.

Hi, John

I would recommend the one you really need !!! ...

let's stop joking : Which precision do you REALLY need ??? That's the only good question.

8 bits ( .4% ) ... using a full port with a R-2R ladder is enough !!!
( MAX 512 ... if really needed )
10 Bits ... (.1%)
12 bits ... (0.025 % ) ... best multimeters precision ...

LTC 1451,1257,1659
MCP 4921 from µChip

After that ... PCB drawing problems + tempco problems in sight !!!
