I have a PIC app which needs a speaker less that 12 mm in diameter. It is using a voice chip and needs to reproduce intelligible audio loud enough to understand a few feet away. Any ideas? I am working from 3 volts so need something fairly efficient.
Thanks,
Ron

I searched Digikey (as I'm sure you did), I would've figured there would have been more out there in terms of small speakers.
But...a thought...how about tearing apart a few cheap headphones and using those speaker elements?

They (headphone speakers) tend to be very 'tinny' and under powered. It might be a last resort, but I figured I would check first.

if it was only for few tones.. it would be easier. But for voice, i don't remind to have tested and be really impressed by anything small. Even those from Panasonic... which are pretty bad to fair... but small indeed. I know they're suppose to release something new this year.. maybe it's already there?

I'll dig in my demo stuff and in my monthly magazine here, maybe i could find something interesting.
