I've got an electric forkhoist and want to make an internal charger for it (controlled by a PIC of course) Was thinking about strapping a heap of those cheap halogen transformers together - my question is tho, can they be put together - I've hooked normal switchmode supplies in parallel and series before but never these cheap transformers and not sure if it's possible.
The battery is 36V, so I figure the transformers r 11.5V each will need 4 in series to make 46V to charge it. And then if I parallel two sets, should get 36A out of 8 200VA transformers.
Then the idea is to PWM the output to change between charge, equalize and trickle at the end.
Would love to hear any thoughts on the idea, cheers
