I dont know the official answer but I would imagine quite a lot of people do this. Its certainly possible because I have it on my Desktop, Laptop and workbench PCs.

I asked the same question about my PCB design software (Proteus) and was told that upto 3 copies were OK provided that I was the only user.

If someone else was using one of the other machines then I would say that you should have two licenced copies.

Its a bit like the MP3 issue. Technically I have broken the law by ripping my CDs to MP3 format evne though they are only for my own personal use and I own the original media that they were ripped from.

Looking in "NEW.TXT" in the PBP directory it says

PicBasic Pro Compiler Ver. 2.46 NEW.TXT
Copyright 2005 microEngineering Labs, Inc.

This software and accompanying documentation is copyright (c)
microEngineering Labs, Inc. and may only be used by owners of the
microEngineering Labs, Inc. PicBasic Pro Compiler.

It says that if you own it you can use it.

Other opinions please :)

as long as you're a single user, you can install/use it on 62785682436562345627436526456437658436564385643785 63423543765872436578643564237657432657264356924375 62743657243658264356243765234695784356274365724365 9 different machines/laptop.

And no you didn't break the law as long as you keep it for yourself... That's what i do with my vinyl and CD records here. I do copy them on CD, and i bring them to the nightclub i work. This way, i keep my original copy like brand-new and clean.

CD-R are crap, but cheap. So i don't care when i broke one after hours and hours of use and beer/shooters spilled on :D
