Hello. I recently picked up a PICkit 2 and wanted to use it for programming from Microstudio. There is a way to add a new programmer and I have tried to go through the setup. When I try to compile and then program, the code will compile and load the PICkit 2 software but it will not load the source file. I have tried to do this with the PICSTART Plus but I get an error when MPLAB is evoked:
Project Manager's initialization failed: can't attach to the menu manager.

It is not a big deal to have the MPLAB or the PICkit2 open and just load the hex file but I thought someone might have some insight as to what is happening. Thanks for your help.

I have the PicKIT1 and the software does exactly the same. It compiles and launches the Microchip software, but you still have to load the HEX file manually.

As far as i'm aware of, there's no command line list available for PICKIT2.. so you'll have to deal with like this... ALT+TAB OR a dual screen setup comes handy ;)
