Need help
I have to design Pic based circuit to detect low fluid level, non contact through plastic container.
Any experiences?

Hi, Branko

You could place two auto adhesive copper sheets on two facing sides of your plastic tank : you built a capacitor; the fluid level will make the capacitance vary with the level.

Use this " capacitor" as the capacitor of a typical RCTime function capacitor, and it's in the pocket.

if needed, a CD4060 could also be used to get an easier-to measure period.

Another trickier solution is to use the capacitor in the RC Clock circuit of the Pic ...

Yes! I have some experience on capacitive water level sensors, they can do what you need.

Fluid could ba anything from mercury to nitrobenzene.
Question 1. What fluid are you trying to detect?
Question 2.Do you need to detect 1 specific level or a range
of levels? - Digital or Analog measurment? oops that's 3 questions, or not.
