Greetings,

Are there any differences or consideratons regarding files generated with a .BAS extension verses files with a .PBP extension using PicBasicPro(2.46)?

Hi,

If you open up the files in a text editor you will find virtually no difference. If you have other basic compilers installed double clicking on a bas file may open up that.So using a .pbp extension ensures that you open up microcode studio clicking on them.

I suspected that there was not a difference, however, I did not want to over look anything.

Thanks

Hi guys,

As I am an old grumphy one, I still write small ( ? ) programs in GWBasic ... which default extension is ... .Bas !!!

So, trying to open "PbP" source w/ dble click file gives a black screen and the " Direct file statement " warning ...

and SYSTEM is required to go back to WINsmurf applications ...

Greetings Alain,

There can be a definite advantage to extended Basic, GW Basic and Visual Basic for DOS for quick tasks without the overhead of the Windows based programming languages.

Any of the DOS Basics really fly when running DOS on a Pentium class computer.

Have you tried FreeDOS which is free:
