Hi,
Does anyone know if it's possible to get these 2 to talk?
I'm completely new to this and purchased picbasic pro+micro code studio and the Icebreaker dev board. Im thinking now it may not be possible to use them, which is a shame as it's the only board I could find to offer all that at a reasonable price.
If anyone knows how to use these together I'd really appreciate some details.
Thanks.

I just had a look at the IceBreaker website.. looks really good, I wish that I had one to program and play with.
There will surely be others who have had experience with this, but give this a go first...
1.Get the latest Ice breaker software if you don't have it already
http://www.magenta2000.co.uk/kits/ibdisk1.zip
2. Add the icebreaker programmer, under Picbasic Options in microcode studio.
3. Complile your program and see if it works

Thanks for that. I'll give it a go. At the moment I seem to have another problem! It seems the icebreak code doesn't want to work. I keep getting "Communications error: unexpected character recieved: 01 expected FF recieved". I've emailed magenta and will let you know how it goes.
Cheers.

Hi
I have used ICE Breakerwith no problem. You use the ICEbreaker software and just download the file just as you would if you were using ICEbreaker on its own. A much better solution is to program ur chip with a bootloader and use this feature inPIC Basic
I have written elsewhere in this forum how I did it
Hope this helps
