I didn't have power supply connectors on hand, so I gutted one from scrap.

It wasn't breadboard-friendly so I had to adapt and fabricate a base. I've since added a 3rd pin on the ground tab; it stabilizes the part even more.

My best work yet. Took me less time to relearn Freecad for the various techniques. 😄

That last model is super stable. I have one more 50Kohm pot, and 4 larger 100Kohm pots. At least now I know I can use them on breadboards for design and test.

good idea, plenty of other dodads could be made much more breadboard friendly with similar treatment.

Great idea! So simple, yet very helpful!

I need to get one of those 3D printers finally.

Nice one Richard too.

Yup, been putzing around with these rotary encoders for years now. Never going anywhere cause of the darn flat pins. And when you solder "resistor extensions", it becomes real wobbly.

I tried to get walls up around it to stabilize it even more, but it's an irregular shape. The thing is not symmetrical; I'll just run hot glue along the top of both sides if it gets wiggly.

Been busy customizing my mini-CNC using my 3D printer.

Installed LED strip; front and back rows are inclined, with a center row shining straight down. The mini-CNC has a "always ON" 12V outlet, so I only have to add a switch box.

I've even installed a JST connector for easy removal (first time using those). I'm still working on the cable track on top.

The Y axis limit switches are installed under the bed, the X axis switches got kicked off the top rail for the cable track; they're going on top of the bottom track behind the spindle.

Also working on the Z axis switches. They'll be incorporated with the cable track fixture that will sit on the stepper.

Looks really great! Nice feature the led lighting.

One day, when I grow up, I will build a CNC too!
