CD-ROM Drive + PIC16F877A

Hello

I need to biuld a stand-alone CD-ROM audio player, I don't know what communication protocol I can apply to the CD-ROM IDE data cable.

Also I need to know the commands I can use to achieve stop/play/pause/forward/backward. And how to intialise communication with the CD-ROM drive.
