Hello all. Today's question is about ICSP.
Is there a fixed standard for ICSP connections or does everyone have their own design. As far a I can figure out, the required connections are MCLR, RB7, RB6 and 0v. I have seen some connected to RB3 as well, but I believe that is only for Low Voltage Programming?.
The EPIC programmer does not use PB3 and that is what I have been using, but I am changing programmers and I suspect that even though they show a PB3 connection, I can get away with just the other 2 port lines as long as I am NOT using Low Voltage Programming.

Thanks for your help folks.
Peter Moritz.

It is a standard. RB3 is the monitoring connection used for debugging. If you just programming the pic you don't need RB3.
