I am using the PIC 16f88 with a-d and proven concept and function using LED displays. It is now time to convert to LCD( Less Power Battery operated device). I need 3 digits with 3 seperate commons. The LCD's I find have only 1 common point which prevents me from stobing all 3 digits.I developed using common anode but am willing to switch to common cathode.Small is good .56 max.

I've never seen 3 digit displays with more than one common, neither have i've seen 1 digit displays smaller than one inch.

You need atleast 25 outputs to drive a 3 digit LCD. One simple(and cheap) way of getting theese is by using 74HC595 chips. They are easy to use, cheap and consume very little power(if run slowly).
