i want to make a project of pic16f877 interface with a mobile to send and receive SMS ,firstly i want to connect the mobile to PC for testing.
i tried to connect nokia 3310 using TX,RX,GND to rs232 via max232 ,i tried 9600 8n1 buts no result when i send AT command, i tried different baud and inverting and non inverting buts no result.
is the nokia3310 have embded modem or i have buy new mobile like 62xx,and whats the true connection between the mobile and PC.

i saw this thread,i just know nokia3310 didnt have embded modem,so i am going to buy new mobile like 6230,is it ok,and is it support embded modem,and should i buy cable with mobile or i can connect direct to PIC by RX,TX.

I can't answer that since I've never used any of these phones, but I'll bet some of the folks posting in that particular thread can answer whatever questions you have.

I do't know the specs every single nokia model.
The easiest way would be to get a datacable with the phone.
(you would need the connector anyway)

With a MAX232 type of inverter/level-shifter
at the PIC end there shouldn't be a problem to connect.

i dont know how can i know that the device i want to buy support embded modem or not .
the avilable device here

what of these device support embded modem
any body work on any of these device
