I am working on a project and i lack of networking knowledge. I have a device Nano LanReach (http://www.connectone.com/?page_id=227) and i used it as a webserver for a website of mine. I can see and edit my webpage from local devices, like my pc.
My problem is that i don't remember what are the steps that i have to do so i can make my webpage visible on the net ?!
I have a typical ADSL internet connection at home with a Thomson TG782 router.
The steps that i did follow as far are those:

I set a static IP to my device
I don't have any DNS

I did portforwarding and disabled my routers firewall.
But nothing changed :/

Any kind of help, documantation or books suggestions about networking would be nice.

Regards, Kostas.

Typical setup - should work with the nano.

First re-enable your router firewall.

I assume your nano has a static address on your network, and is on port 80

In the router, TCP forward external port 80 to internal port 80 on nano internal static IP address.

If the nano when setup asks for dns server then put in the IP address of your router.

You will, most likely, NOT be able to access your web pages from any PC on your internal network by using your external IP address, get somebody else to try it.

This is not a router problem just how it works.
