HI GUYS,

I am looking for some input into using an SI APD or SI PIN for range finding application in 900nm range , the pulse generated are about 30ns at a max of 1khz

if anyone has had experience with type of application , please pm me

cheers sheldon

the application is to do with lidar reading of low emission detection from Near Infrared laser

so anyone who has had some experience with the interfacing / amp buffer / pickup of the photodiode ,

be good

I would be glad to help, except for the fact that I don't even understand what you're TALKING about! I understand some of the words, but put together in sentences? Not so much

Sorry.....

Well, you are making me feel better. If Longpole expresses himself better he would get more help. I think that he wants to design a device that measures the distance between two points by shinning a red laser to a distant point and reading the laser reflection with a sensor. I don't think too many people in this forum have done that. If this is the case of what you want, just do a Google search for "lidar circuit".

Actually, mine wasn't a comment on his ability to express himself - it was a comment on my thickheadedness! But thank you for your explanation, I understand what he's trying to achieve now. Still can't help him.......but at least I understand what he wants to do! :D
