it would be really nice to have available some gui shell, which will allow me to config inputs, adcons and so on via gui, and will generate proper TRISA, ANSEL. and so on statements, just like atmel does.

There was some gentle guys here who began to write something about that ...

but just notice even Microchip gave up on this exercise ... so, may be a bit overkill for the result.

and it looks much better you to read your Datasheet  ...

Some guys are learning-oriented, I'm (and a lot of others, too) are result-oriented, so having a tool which will speed up things will be very nice.

Sometimes ... I'ts much, much, much better to understand what you are doing, and why you do it.

that could avoid the disasters we are facing more and more frequently in our societies

You know, if you have no idea what are registers, adc, or whatsoever, having GUI tool will not make things worse or better. But, when you're writing a software, and few clicks can replace hand writting of code - I think this is the best.

It's because there are just too many PICs to chose from, and the collection just keeps on growing.

And when you're done, you have to multiply the work by 2, pre and post PBP 3.0.
