In reference to the capacitors for the oscillator, can you have them on one side of the PCB and the oscillator on the other? I'd like to put the oscillator about 4 inches away from the 22pF caps but wasn't sure if there were any concerns about the traces picking up noise and affecting the performance of the oscillator. I do have a ground plane on the PCB.

I was always told that the oscillator needs to be as close to the processor as possible, and the capacitors close as well
Just what I was told, may or may not be correct.

Like Andy already said, the capacitors need to be as close as possible to the oscillator. This eliminates noise in the lines.
