View Full Version : Disabling MCLR pin

I am trying to disable the MCLR pin because I am using it to do a LCDOUT on that Pin.
I am using a PIC16F88.
I read this thread but it is not helping me out.
I still get compiling error.. illegal upcode

DATA sheets are your friend.
Please read the chips DATA sheet and make it happy :)
MCLR is an input only.

I guess I have to find a way to use the LCd another way then, I need the SDA and SCL pins and the Vref,s pins....

also how come do I get the illegal upcode ???
