I'm thinking of having a go at a small venture:

1. Purchase im bulk about 100 4X40 blue/white LCDs from China.
2. FOB cost ia about $18 each.
3. Other costs would be postage and so on.
4. Sell them via the internet.
5. Similar LCDs are advertised for $60 upwards.

Any experience of this sort of thing?
Pitfalls?
Things that you wish you had know when you started!

not sure where you saw those overpricey ones, but a simple visit to digikey
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=NHD-0440WH-ATMI-JT%23-ND

and those are regular parts.

Mister_e,
Wow, that is a good price for a 4X40 blue/white. I've been digging round the Australian suppliers - I should have remembered that they are mostly over-priced, and on borrowed time.
Thanks for that, I'll ponder-on.

Don't forget, you'll be liable for import duty and tax on the goods too. Unless you're into 100,000+ quantities then it's seldom worthwhile importing to resell.
