Keypad port problems

Is there any way i can use a key pad without using 10 ports?

Mister_e made a nice configurable keypad routine. It uses a matrix, so for a 4 x 4 keypad it uses 8 ports. 3 x 4 would be 7 ports. http://www.picbasic.co.uk/forum/content.php?r=215-Matrix-Keypad-routine

Yes, use analog functions and use different resistor values for each row.
