I am setting up my LAB-X1 and U2 programmer for the first time. I believe I have it right--USB cable to U2 Programmer, U2 Programmer to LAB-X1 via 10 wire connector (Not twisted or bent), power adapter plugged in and connected to LAB-X1. The program compiles fine but when I click on Program I get a message stating the target device does not match the selected device. I'm using a PIC16877-I/P that came with the LAB-X1 bundle. I get the message when selecting the 877 and 877A devices. I might also mention that I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

There is a jumper JP1 that lets you decide if you are going to power the LAB-X1 with the programmer, or with external power. If the chip is not getting power, then it will not be recognized. If running LAB-X1 power from a transformer, then leave the jumper off, but if you are going to power it with the programmer, put it on. It should recognize the chip. You are right, just straight with your ribbon cable.
