Does anyone know if MPLAB ICD ver 1 is compatible with the 16F628A PIC.

I have my code written in PicBASIC and it was developed using this system and a PIC16F876. I have now made a board which contains the 16F628A PIC which i am hoping will be able to be programmed using ICSP & MPLAB.

However, this PIC is not listed in the MPLAB environment. It only has PIC16F870 - PIC16F877. Are any of these PICs for the programming point of view compatible?

Many thanks,

Steve

if the PIC16F628 is not listed in MPLAB... you must have a 4-5 years of age version of this software. New version is V7.01 and still free on Microchip's website

Unfortunatly, version 5.7 is the last version of the software which is compatible with this version of the hardware and thats from Microchip. Any other ideas ??

i don't know if you can just add PIC definition in the folder.

the best way to know is to try or ask them here (http://support.microchip.com/scripts/slxweb.dll/external?name=webticketcust)

usually they answer the same day or the next day.
