Dear All
I am facing a very frustating problem. Due to not much knowledge when it comes to hardware in electronics, I am stuck with this problem from past few days.

My project has a 4013 (Flip Flop IC). The current output of this IC is very low (if I can read the datasheet correctly then it's aroung <1mA). I have to glow a bunch of LEDs with this system (around 500mA needed).

System should also work from 3V to 6V. The problem is that whatever I put (from what I know and is easily available) infront of the 4013 to supply power to LEDs, it is proving to be inadequate and LEDs are not bright enough.Seems like voltage drop is causing the problem along with insufficient current supply from the IC pin. I even tried a small relay but it is draining the battery quiet fast.

Is there a solution someone might help me with please?

Thanks Mackrackit for the link. My circuit is similar but my problem is of not knowing what component to put in place of BC547B to drive LEDs without affecting their brightness. BC547b seems for small loads upto 100mA (Source - Datasheet)

A logic level MOSFET I think is best for the job.

Example IRL520, IRLR7807Z and ... google.
