Basic Stamp BS2 replacement?

Does anybody know of a drop-in replacement that we can program with PBP? I recently drove a stepper with a BS2 (because it was preexisting), and it is pathetically slow.

You should see one heck of an improvement. Try the turbo (40 mhz) PIC18F2520 version.

Looks like they are out of stock though. I think I have seen others. Just can't find them now.

Hi,

Basically, a BS2 is a PIC 16C57 ... with some peripherals as EEPROM, regulator, Brownout circuit ...

Alain--I'm aware of that. I only want a couple, and I don't want to waste the time laying out a board if I can buy one finished.

That's too bad. It looked pretty cool. It looks like you might have to make one yourself, you could use their design: http://www.sourceboost.com/Products/EZ-Controller/Download/ez_c_turbo_schem.pdf

Or, you could get a pre-made Basic ATOM with a PIC16f876 and make a programming header on a breadboard to program it yourself, erasing the Atom basic from it. http://basicmicro.com/Product.aspx?productID=18&CategoryID=1
