Hi all, I am building an electric powered recliner (LazyBoy chair) to drive around the neighbourhood. I am using 2 500Watt scooter motors and the controllers use a hall efffect throttle. These Throttles provide 0-4vdc signal to the speed controller. I plan on using a pic to provide these signals. I was thinking of using PWM to drive a 2n2222 then a cap/resistor filter to provide a steady voltage output. Any one have any ideas or comments on this. I will post pictures as this is going to make folks smile and want to drive it.

Will this also have on-board refreshments? :)

You might want to look at a frequency to voltage chip/circuit that the PIC could drive.

:) I think this would be mandatory on this type of vehicle.

I will look into the F-V chips, this might be the first Fly By Wire Recliner.

Two 500 watt 24vdc motors, skid steer, caster front wheels, solinoid disk brakes, recliner from Goodwill, fighter style joy stick control, wife on my lap giggling all the way around the block................ i love being a nerd

Doing some testing with a BS2SX this evening I am getting good results with a 10K ohm in series with a 2.22uF electrolytic to gnd with the PWM command. I usally start development with a Stamp then port to PICs. If this is not the right forum location to share this project someone please let me know, I think it will be fun. I hope to keep up with pictures and commentary.

Cheers
Aaron

Yep, gotta see the pictures!!!!

Forum location--Posted in the General area and it is Generally about PICs....

Just do not mention the stamp thing too much... Darrel gets to acting "funny" when they come up :D

Which PIC do you plan to use?

I was just watching the news (Studio B), and saw a story about a guy that pleaded guilty to driving a LazyBoy while intoxicated.
I immediately thought of your project.

Found the story online.

Careful what you put in that cup holder. :D

And yeah, DON'T PUT A STAMP IN IT!
