Good day
I want to make a VERY loud noise at about 20khz
I assume I can use the SOUND command, but what speaker or piezo must I use that will make a very very loud noise?

Very likely you will need a speaker and a TBA820 as amplifier, and you will obtain a loud sound out. For a very very loud, you will need a several watts amplifier

If you want to put out a lot of db at 20khZ you should look into a piezo tweeter to connect to the amp.

Thank you falingtrea.
Just a thought.
Will I be able to run a piezo tweeter directly from a pic using the sound command (without any amplifier)?
Or will the sound not be very loud?

Hi koossa,
IMHO a 555 timer is more appropriate for this project, it's analog output will better drive the amplifier than the PICs choppy output. Price ? About the same, you could use a 556 dual 555 and vary the tone with the second timer, Oh, and have more hair left at day's end too. :D

Also a 555 can drive load from 12 volts while PIC from only 5.
