Hi! I recently made an order for PICBASIC pro at mechnique.co.uk and payed via credit card.
This was on the 18.June and I never received my cds nor any mail from mechanique. I sent an email to them recently and today their site said "Mechanique is no longer in business due to lack of customer demand".... I have the Transaction Id listed below. Can anyone advise me on what I should do/steps I can take)

(I live in Europe, and I am protected by EU laws, but I hope I won't have to threaten legal action). Im can post the last 4 digits of the merchant cart id and the transaction id...just trying to be safe....

The legal contract you have made is between YOU and the CREDIT CARD Company. The CC Company is the party that have taken your money and is ultimately responsible. Contact them and ask for your money back. You WILL get it.

I just checked this web address, and there is nothing there about them going out of business.

What site did you find this on?

I think http://www.mechanique.co.uk/ is where he saw the out of business note.

http://www.mecanique.co.uk seems to be alive & well.

Hi

I have bought loads of hardware from mecanique and the only problem has been out of stock items which I have always taken to mean that they are busy. This is good news in a way because it means they are a thriving business. The down side is having to wait.

You are not on Mars are you :)

if mars is North Hessen Germany then yes :-)
feels like it sometimes(but the landscape is less red i guess)..

out of stock would not be a problem, but i have been told twice it will be dispatched the same day but it hasn't been that is where my problem is...
the waiting goes on..

I waited two weeks, no package arrived (it usually takes less than a week from the UK to Sweden). I e-mailed and asked what happend, got a prompt reply (within hours) saying there had been a delay but it should be dispatched the next day.

It's now been another week and still no PBP2.60, e-mailed again yesterday but no response yet....

/Henrik.

Not so bad . . . I bought something from Canada and it took 30 days from the sellers claim of shipment to my home in USA. . . about 2kg weight.

Hi,
My 2.60 copy has arrived as well. All in all it took over 5 weeks from order to delivery. After not receiving anything in the first four weeks they sent out another parcel, took three days to get here. Anyway, it's here, I'm having problems but that's a matter for another thread.

While I too believe their communication could be a bit better, they were kind enough to delay my shipment until the new compiler version came out...(a long time before it was common knowledge there was a new version comming).
