Hello Joe and everyone, im new in pbp and i start thinking to make a VGA box (av or scart to VGA) so i can watch dvd or dsr on the computer screen' i dream to use pic IC and pbp so im interesting in this project, if its possible, i will post some links and schemas later and i hope im not dreaming or in wrong ideas. have a great day all members.

This isn't for the inexperienced.

You are receiving video at one frequency, digitising it, then outputing it at a different frequency depending on your video resolution.

A PIC alone does NOT have the capability to handle this. You need a LOT of additional supporting hardware.

You will spend countless hours and many 100's of $ to achieve this... when it has been done already... do a google search for GRANDTEC VGC1000 for about $50...

Doing it yourself will probably take AT LEAST a couple of months of your life, some expensive test equipment, and probably a minimum of $250...

May I respectfully suggest you pick a simpler project.

Yeah, when you consider than a CISC 1.6GHz Intel Atom doesn't have enough processing power to play a 1080p video download, how on earth do you expect a RISC 40MHz PIC running at a 10MHz instruction rate to do anything other than pong-like graphics?
