I was thinking I had seen the schematic and code posted here or some were
on building a project that would read the IR out put from a TV remote and display on a LCD.
I do a little demonstration using IR light and camera at my grand kids school
this mite be a nice add-on

not the one I was looking for but got me thinking that the kids mite enjoy seeing something doing something over looking at a LCD.
maybe a TV remote operating a servo motor.
most everything I looked at uses a 38Khz IR Module. I'm limit to what I can buy locally. Radio Shack has one. My question is are these module interchangeable are do I have to use the brand they use.

LOL I did this a few years back. The idea was (never did the mechanics) to use the remote to turn the TV turntable. You can always salvage an IR reciever from an old tv or something. I found that freq was more an issue on a sending device (what I'm searching for now)
