I have a design that is using 3 4066 analog switches.

Is/are there better alternatives? Even if its a 16 switch version. dip and smt also.

CD4067B 16 channel. CD4051B 8channel, CD4052B dual 4 channel.

I like the Maxim switches/multiplexers.
They have REALLY low on resistances.

WAAAAAY better than 4066 or 74HC405x.
