Hi all, i've just joined the forum.:)

I'm looking for a [working!] bootloader for use on the 64K PIC18F4680 & later for the 96K PIC18F4685 devices. My present bootloader by Philip Pemberton worked flawlesly for the past 3 years but does not appear to program past memory location x7FFF.

I've read there is a bootloader with the Microcode Studio?

a. Will it work with the aforementioned chips?
b. Would I need the compiler program open for the bootloader window to run, as, strange as it is, with the Mecanique bootloader (that doesn't work).
c. Can the the PIC bootloader program be easily changed, I'm running at 20Mhz & would like 19200 baud. Also, but not crucial, i'd like the bootloader to reside at the start of the memory block, not at the end.

Any help appreciated. Mark.

Mecanique's bootloaders have always served me well in the past, no problem with them. I haven't the 4685 one, but I'm pretty sure if you purchased MCSP in the past, Dave will be able to build you a custom one in a snap.

Mecanique bootloader will work only with MicroCode Studio plus AND/OR using the MCLoader application. There's still a .DLL available in case you want to build your own custom pc software.

There's also the Tiny PIC bootloader route
