USB to Serial..MAYDAY...MAYDAY!!

HEEELLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!

This is driving me NUTS... I bought a new laptop, and like most things these days, no serial or parralel ports. Of course I should have checked, but hey ho, it's done now.

OK, I thought, I'll just buy a USB 2 Ser to use my Proton Dev. kit.. NO CHANCE!! despite 4 different converters, it just won't play ball. I'm running XP on an Acer 4233WMLi.

Any ideas please?

Tripp Lite model U209-000-R works with my PICSTART PLUS, but the ones from Belkin do not.

Try a different brand.
