OK, this is waaay off topic! But, I'll give the brain trust a try. I have to develop an application for the 8051 core of a Chipcon RF transceiver. I have already proved it out using the '690 and PBP (thanks MeLabs!), but needa single chip solution. I bought a good book on the 8051 from Myke Predko, and on the disc was a demo version of the UMPS IDE. Well, it works very well, and can even be used to create and run limited PIC assembly programs with simulated graphic hardware on screen during run time.

Now I want to buy the full version. The problem is that the company that created it is not to be found (out of business?), and even Myke is impossible to find on the net. Any ideas? At this point, if I can't track down the author, and pay for it, is it acceptable to get an unauthorized copy?

Thanks,
Ron
