Default Simulate a mouse with a PIC

Hello Everyone. I would like to simulate a USB, PS/2 or serial mouse with a PIC with pushbuttons. The idea here is 1 switch is up, 2 down, 3 left, 4 right. Pressing 2 & 3 will go down left, etc. I searched this forum and did a google search on mouse protocol but couldn't find anything definative with connecter pinouts, etc. Any ideas? Thanks.
