Is it as simple as RS232 ?

    hi peter,

well most gps module outputs nmea data sentences at 4800 8n1, so all you need is just wait for the specific sentence and extract the data. hope u RTFM. some handheld units such as GARMIN outputs a specific text string and not nmea which baudrate can be chosen from the setup menu. but definitely 99% of them outputs nmea data sentences.
