Default Wireless LCD 16x2 Display by InfraRed ?

Have anobody constructed something like this, controlling a LCD by IR instead of tons of wires, or even a 2 wire ?

I use a 2-wire controller board connected to the LCD in my projects, but it would be very cool to use a PIC + IR decoder as a controller for the LCD to accept the inputs and commands, so some projects could have the LCD in any place without any wire at all to the main board.

If someone have a code using the PIC 16F628 USART + IR.

    Thanks!
