    Default Micro code studio free?

I just upgraded my PBP and it included the micro code studio, which I almost didn't install, thinking it was a demo version.

It looks like it may be included in the upgrade? I don't see any nag screen or anything like that.

So, is it the (49.95) fully functional that is included?

I had just upgraded my Code designer lite in anticipation of the PBP upgrade.....would you folks suggest I go with the Micro code studio instead?

PBP now ships with the free version of MicroCode Studio. This is the same free version you can download.

Are there any limitations I should be concerned with?

    Thanks.

The big difference with free version is the limitation on ICD support. This should all be in the help file.

I don't know what I've done wrong but...

    (A) Micro code studio "can't locate" the programmer

Everything is setup fine, parallel port, default programmer is EPIC.

    (B) So I tried just pulling up the programmer software on it's own and loading a known good hex file and I get...

    "unable to access driver"

    (C) the regulator with 13volts on it is hotter than hell

    (D) the only mistake I made was accidently put a 40 pin 16c65b in backwards. This epic programmer actually has 2 DIFFERENT PIN 1 situations....that is an accident waiting to happen.

and also, I'm not getting anything out of the other regulator (5v)?

The wall transformer they sent (Jameco) has a raw 20vdc on it disconnected.

Micro code was looking for Epicwin but Meprog is what it needed.

Programmer survived....this zif adapter is horse****.
