Thread: Mplabx 4.15

    Default Mplabx 4.15

I recently up graded MPLABX to 4.15 and want to move the PB3 toolchain to the new IDE. Question: will I have a choice of programmers, PK3 or the PBP USB programmer? If a program with a pbp. extension is imported into the project will this bring the other files with it? Still trying to get a handle on the integrating of the two. I am willing to rewrite code if it's the only way to move over. I did see the video on the PBP3 site and it didn't get into the details.

I'm not sure there's much benefit in that. I can't really think of any new features you'd get, and if MCSP works for you you'd probably be loosing some.

You'd only be able to choose programmers supported by MPLABX, so you'd loose the USB programmer. There's no way to add custom programmers to MPLABX like there is with MCSP.

Thank you for the reply and I agree. I'll hold off on this. The reason is more of convenience. Some older project code is in assembly in the MPLAB IDE.
